I recently represented a client who had a prior history of retail frauds (4 convictions to be exact). Nothing about my client would indicate she's ever committed a crime - she's a loving mother and wife, and a practicing nurse. My client had one flaw, and that was retail fraud in Oakland County. All of these prior offenses were from 10 plus years ago, before she even became a nurse. Somehow she was able to get her license and work with this history, because she had demonstrated a changed life.
This new retail fraud would have been the straw that broke the camel''s back, and she would have possibly lost her job and her license to practice as a nurse. Fortunately I was able to get my client on a proactive retail fraud program and in the end we earned a dismissal of the retail fraud case, and my client is now back and work. This result shows that if a client is willing to be proactive and put in the hard work, they will be rewarded.
