When the police pull you over for drunk driving, and ask for identification, insurance etc, they are busy making observations such as slurred speech, odors of alcohol, "drunk actions" such as fumbling paperwork, acting nervous etc. Most officers will list in a police report strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes - it's actually quite ridiculous how often these are listed - it just becomes a boilerplate police report at times.
