Once you've been arrested you DO NOT need to speak or answer any questions. Any info the police need can be found on your license and other documentation. It's up to you how much you want to say, but do not feel obligated to bond with the police officers. 99 percent of the time, it's harmless conversation, but if there's a question about you being the driver or if you drank or where you were, a slip of your words can eliminate a number of defenses for your case.
If the police want to question you further about the case, ask for an attorney! Do not sign anything! You are most likely being recorded both by video and audio the entire time.
